MOVIE REVIEWS

Director James Toback takes an unflinching, uncompromising look at the life of Mike Tyson--almost solely from the perspective of the man himself. TYSON alternates between the controversial boxer addressing the camera and shots of the champion's fights to create an arresting picture of the man. Matthew McConaughey has got the role of sexy, carefree bachelor perfected, and he gives his many admirers just want they want in this romantic comedy from director Mark Waters (MEAN GIRLS). McConaughey stars as Connor Mead, a man who arrives at his brother's wedding only to be reminded of his own romantic past. Jennifer Garner (JUNO) costars as the "one who got away." After the death of her mother, Jasmine "Jazz" Morgan (Monique Cameron) decided to pursue her dream of becoming a singer--against the wishes of her conservative father. With her young sister (Erica Chamblee) tagging along, Jazz enters Washington D.C.'s vibrant and sometimes unsavory music scene. But when she gains a following as a singer with a local go-go band, will fame be all she hoped for? Journalist Steve Lopez discovers Nathaniel Anthony Ayers , a former classical music prodigy, playing his violin on the streets of L.A. As Lopez endeavors to help the homeless man find his way back, a unique friendship is formed, one that transforms both their lives. BROKEN FLOWERS helmer Jim Jarmusch directs a cast of his previous collaborators--Isaach De Bankolé, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton--in this film. THE LIMITS OF CONTROL also features Gael Garcia Bernal and Youki Kudoh.
